Over the past seven years, we have, organised over 565 women, children and men from the Sutherland Shire to compete in the Mother’s Day Classic fun run/walk in the City. This event raises money for breast cancer research.

We started as a small group of friends but the response has been overwhelming. The number of women, men & children wanting to compete and be involved has doubled every year.
After the first year being so successful we launched Bay Babes as a non-profit organisation.
We have raised over $100,000 and have donated to organisations such as the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Sutherland Hospital Oncology Unit, Jane McGrath Foundation and the Joanne Mackay Foundation. We have also helped women in our area who have been recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
Unfortunately, Breast Cancer still remains the leading cause of cancer death in females despite advances in diagnosis and treatment. It is therefore essential for more funding to be raised. |
